| Σχόλιο για τις αξίες | The gorge of Langada Trypis offers shelter in its unique rocky ecosystems to many Greek endemic plants, some of them i.e. Hypericum taygeteum, Satureja taygetea, Silene echinosperma and Silene goulimyi prosper only on the vertical rocks of this area and their populations consist of very few individuals. It must be emphasized that Satureja taygetea is mentioned in Directive 92/43/EEC. Specific reptile taxa of Annex II of the Directive 92/43/EEC, have been recorded as occurring in this site (see section 3.2). Moreover, many amphibian, reptilian and mammalian Other and Greek Important taxa have been evaluated (section 3.3). Among them, some of the lizard species endemic to Greece occur (motivation B). These four taxa are all distributed in the southern part of Greece (Peloponnisos only, or Peloponnisos plus the islands of Kefalonia, Ithaki and Zakynthos (Ionian islands). Motivations C and D indicate that the relevant taxa are included in the lists of the Bern Convention and the Greek Presidential Degree 67/1981, respectively. Also, the hare Lepus europeaus is marked with motivation D since this animal is generally rare in Greece due to hunting. |

| Τρωτότητα | The populations of the very rare plant species presently threatened only by over-collection and also by their low population numbers which leads to a diminished gene pool and a reduction in the population's plasticity. The sympatry of certain endemic vertebrate species is the main element underlining the value and vulnerability of the area, simultaneously. |
